Sheep Shape

Started to block-in a near life size sheep~ based on the small "Southwestern Sheep" study I did back in May (Scroll down).

Good to see you posting again! This is cool and I almost like it just the way it is, but maybe I'm weird like that.

Kerri~ I apologize to you and everyone~ Im a TERRIBLE blogger right now. I really haven't slept much since November 16th and it has caught up with me...

Quick! Give me a term for unrefined wool! :>) I just saw a painting in an Art rag (International Artist?)~ where the artist had published the progressive photos of the painting- and like you, I thought the simplicity of step number 2 was MUCH better than the final painting!

So, to your point, maybe I should/would stop right now if only I were capable of building a cool enough frame to help carry the wooly bugger!

This is soooooooooooooo cool! I can hardly wait to see the end product.
Oh, I just read Kerri's comment and your reply. Er...uhm... Maybe you can do another one?

Thanks Sheila! You were correct~ I do intend to take this one further just to see what happens on the bigger canvas! The sheep are too much fun to paint.

Missed ya, buddy - glad you're back. You're off to a really great start with this painting. Love the bold red underpainting. Really looking forward to seeing the finished piece.
