Thanks Manon! I think northerners have a keener appreciation for the Southwest ;>) I still have a house for sale back in Upper Arlington.

Have you been to Junctionview Studios in Grandview? I am toying with the idea of joining when I return in 2010. I really like your mixed media pieces! Maybe I'll see you around~ here OR there!

You've captured that hazy bright sun keeping everything just outta' focus look perfectly. I agree with Manon on those colors - gotta' love 'em. Oh yeah, and the title is perfect. Great job, yet again... -Don

Thanks Don! I have taken so many pictures of my kids on our little outings, that inevitably~ one of the shots just screams to be painted (for all the reasons you mentioned), such is the case with this one.

The problem with painting your own kids is that it becomes "part of the artists personal collection"

The problem with taking reference pictures of other people, other peoples kids~ you look like some kind of weirdo! :>)

Wha..the... How did I miss this gem? I don't know how you can paint so much warmth and detail on such a tiny canvas! Which son is this?
